Order quantities
Minimum, maximum and packaging units per product.
Via order quantities you can control the quantities a customer is allowed to buy or must take.
In addition, these details provide valuable information for your customers so that they understand which quantities and packaging sizes are offered.
TIP
The system treats sales unit, packaging unit and stock-keeping unit as equivalent. Where applicable, the sales unit in the shop differs from the stock units in your ERP/warehouse management; for example, if you normally sell entire cartons and now break these for sale in the shop, taking and selling individual quantities. This can be solved by clever mapping in the data handovers.
Stock level
The stock level refers to the quantity in the unit (packaging unit / sales unit) that is available for sale or offered to the customer.
Sales unit and unit-price calculation
The sales unit is the smallest unit in which a product is sold to the end customer. It can be a single packaging unit that is presented to the customers as a product. For example, a sales unit can be a single bottle of a drink or a pack of multiple biscuits.
The "Sales unit" field is required for the unit-price calculation. The value to enter depends on the chosen unit of measurement.
Unit price = (product price * base unit) / sales unit.
In conjunction with the "Sales unit" field is the "Base unit" field. This is required for the unit-price calculation. The base value to enter depends on the chosen unit of measurement. Unit price = (product price * base unit) / sales unit.
The unit price is not displayed when the sales unit and base unit have the same value.
Packaging units (PU)
The packaging unit refers to the way in which the products are organised and presented in a package. It can be a single sales unit or a group of sales units packaged together in an outer packaging unit. The packaging unit can take various forms, such as cartons, bags, pallets, several bundled sales units as a promotional pack, etc.
In the master data of a product, you can define the packaging unit (PU).
A free text can be entered here, e.g. the type of packaging: bottle, crate, jar, and many more.
The entry is purely informational and is not used for calculations.
