Customer-specific product assortments in the webshop
Which customer sees which assortment? Define visibility rules.
Customer-specific assortments means that certain customers can see and purchase certain products while others cannot. In a modified form, this also enables a particular user journey.
You can, for example, implement the following use cases:
- As a shop operator, you want to display different products to certain customers, for example private label products (products specifically manufactured / labelled for the customer)
- Display of selected products, for example relevant spare parts (via bills of materials) for the machines used at the specific customer
- The debtor / shop customer wants their staff to be able to order only certain products from the full assortment on offer
Individual assortments can be created using the following approaches:
- Whitelist approach: permitting assortments (categories, products) for certain customers
- Blacklist approach: permitting assortments (categories, products) for certain customers
- Visibility vs. purchasing
- Maintaining a blacklist from the company's perspective as part of a roles / permissions concept in the company account
INFO
Which approach is suitable depends on the specific use case. There is also a considerable dependency on the customer and product data model, as the appropriate markers for visibilities need to be named and implemented.
For significantly differing offers, e.g. a specific target group, providing an additional sales channel may also be appropriate.

Please discuss the specific configuration with your implementation partner
In the shop system, we provide the blacklist approach based on customer groups. In principle, a category or a product is therefore always visible, but you can make it inaccessible to certain customer groups (accordingly also to guests).
Controlling visibility at the level of users / companies is not yet possible.
Please refer to the chapter Restrictions for customer groups for the steps to configure private categories.
